Come join in our success!The Senior Database Administrator/ Database Administrator works collaboratively to support systems critical to the operations of the Customer Engagement Solutions (CES) team. The Senior Database Administrator identifies and tackles challenges with solutions keeping an eye on what is current and innovative to keep the team developing and moving forward.Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:Day-to-day data administration of both non-production and production servers in a clustered environment including: Storage management and optimization, Database backup and recovery, System health and performance monitoring, Database hardening, Security configuration, High availability designTake proactive measures to monitor, trend, and tune SQL databases including developing weekly/monthly reports to be delivered to leadership teamEnsure databases are consistent, stable, backed up, and can be recoveredDrive initiatives to automate and innovate processesDocument complex installation, configuration, and optimization proceduresPlan, install and configure database servers; Determine standards for database server configurationsProvides database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning supportPlan, design, implement, maintain, and perform periodic reevaluation of data integrity and data security measuresStays current with database technology and best practices. Participates in strategic discussions and provides recommendation on database technology and related tools.Assistance with on-boarding of new partners / clients for data ETL needsOther duties as needed to support Data Architects, Developers, and Security OperationsQualificationsMinimum Required:BA/BS degree in a related field5+ years’ experience working as a Microsoft SQL Server DBAAdvanced knowledge of query analysis, performance monitoring and tuning, and maintenance routinesPowershell or Python experienceMust be extremely familiar and competent with SSMS, SSIS, SSRSMust be familiar with Microsoft Windows server (2012 r2+). HyperV familiarity a plusMust be familiar with various storage mechanisms for MS SQL Server data, Raid, Direct attached storage, NVME FlashExperience with creating and maintaining database infrastructureExperience with database clustering and High AvailabilityExperience working in AWS and Azure is a plus but not requiredKnowledge in Windows administrationBackground in automating processesOther RequiredTechnical Expertise: Working knowledge Microsoft Office Applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.Deep understanding of T-SQL and the ability to assist in troubleshooting developer code for performance issues.Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to balance competing prioritiesSkilled at communicating with colleagues, management, and leadership on status and direction as it pertains to processes and strategyService-minded in creating processes & strategies that focus on key elements of Customer Experience.May require travel domestically including overnight stays up to 10%PreferredUnderstanding of DevOps process flow including requirement management and task tracking within Azure is preferredWho We ArePRECISIONxtract, part of Precision Value & Health, is an award-winning global healthcare market access consultancy.
