This vital role will join the Research and Development Strategy and Operations Applied Information Management team. This person will collaborate with Amgen colleagues across various locations, cross-functional areas and with our team to develop innovative, fit-for-purpose technology, automation and data analytics solutions. Key Activities for the Manager: Work directly with stakeholders to perform business analysis Translate business needs into technology solutions Contribute insightful ideas and subject matter expertise to project teams and business process improvement Develop innovative and effective approaches to solve automation and analytical problems Participate in software vendor selection process Present proposals and project updates to teams and business partners Develop data models (relationship, hierarchical, predictive, statistical, etc.) through data gathering, exploration, transformation and analysis Develop automation routines, dashboards, reports, visualizations, data processing and integration tools Partner with R&D Informatics to communicate IS portfolio needs based on functional area requirements Maintain familiarity with industry business standards and best practices and proficiency with current and emerging software development technologies Win What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Data Science Manager we seek should have these qualifications. Basic Qualifications: Masters degree OR Bachelors degree and 5 years of related industry experience OR Associates degree and 10 years of related industry experience Or High school diploma / GED and 12 years of related industry experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industry Experience with scientific, portfolio timeline, operational and financial data analysis Proficiency with two or more programming languages such as Python, R, VBA, SQL, Javascript Proficiency with two or more data aggregation, development, visualization and reporting tools such as Databricks, Tableau, Alteryx, SharePoint Online and Salesforce Working knowledge of at least one RDBMS and SQL (Postgres, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, etc.) Working knowledge with version control systems such as Git Understanding of AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, Redshift, Athena, etc. Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) Familiarity with robotic process automation (RPA) tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, etc.) Proficiency using Office 365, SharePoint Online, MS Teams, OneDrive, Box, Smartsheet and other cloud enterprise solutions Ability to collaborate and influence business partners and other IS resources to drive projects end-to-end Experience with Agile or similar project management methodologies Thrive Some of the vast rewards of working here As we work to develop treatments that look after others, we also work to care for our teammates professional and personal growth and well-being.
