Data Engineer – Data Modernization

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Data Engineer.

The Data Engineer will collaborate with other teams within the organization to assess goals and information needs.

The Candidate willl translate business requirements into data streams, databases, data warehouses, and other information products.

The position will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and is initially funded through 2/22/2022 with potential renewal.

Pay Rate

$59.27/hr working 40 hours a week

Shifts: M-F (100% Telework)

Employee will be working a minimum of 8 hours a day between the hours of 7 AM to 7 PM.

Job Duties

· Collaborate with other teams within the organization to assess goals and information needs.

· Help define an enterprise data vision and put it into practice.

· Translate business requirements into data streams, databases, data warehouses, and other information products.

· Analyze, plan, and define data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, and master data.

· Design and deploy ETL pipelines.

· Develop application programming interfaces (APIs) to retrieve data.

· Drive DevOps and infrastructure as code efforts.

· Create procedures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.

· Create and implement data management processes and procedures.

· Develop documentation and desktop procedures to support ongoing production.

· Research data acquisition opportunities across the enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications:

· A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in either Public Health Administration, Epidemiology, Public Health Statistics, Public Health Microbiology or Communicable Disease Control -and
– five (5) years of experience working in public health programs
– OR-

· A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in either Public Health Administration, Epidemiology, Community Health Services, Public Policy, and two (2) years of work experience in public health; and

· Valid Class C California Driver’s License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

· Problem-solving and critical thinking to safeguard data integrity, security, and data velocity.

· Time management skills and the ability to multitask so that you can accomplish and complete projects in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience with exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, anomalies, and correlations in large data sets.

· Experience with designing data management to efficiently collect, store, and leverage data.

· Expertise with coding language like Python, Scala, or Go.

· Demonstrated experience with SQL, NoSQL, RDBMS, and HDFS.

· Experience with provisioning tools like Terraform or Ansible a plus.

· Strong skills related to containerization also a plus.

· Knowledge of public health data also a plus.

· BA in Computer Science or relevant experience in related positions for at least 4-5 years.
