We’re looking for a Data Engineer on our Data Insights and Governance team!
Working from our Los Angeles, CA, headquarters, you’ll collaborate with teams across the organization (engineering, finance, sales, marketing, and strategy) to build pipelines and systems to deliver the data necessary for making the right decision in the moment.
What you’ll do:Work closely with stakeholders in engineering, finance, sales, marketing, strategy, and governance to make high quality datasets available to consumers in a timely mannerDevelop data pipelines adhering with privacy and governance principlesBecome familiar with our data consumption portals and their capabilitiesBuild expertise and ownership of data quality for supported domainsBuild tooling and implement systems to overcome limitations of the data consumption portals when appropriateDrive adoption of the data sets you’ve producedKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Experience in building data pipelines to serve reporting needsExperience owning all or part of a team roadmapAbility to prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders in disparate domainsAbility to effectively communicate complex projects to non-technical stakeholdersMinimum Qualifications: BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in a relevant field3+ year experience in SQL or similar languages3+ years development experience in at least one object-oriented or scripting language (Python, Java, Scala, etc)Preferred Qualifications:Hands on experience with Google BigQueryExperience in version control systems such as GitData architecture and warehousing experienceExperience leading a small team of data or software engineersExperience with AirflowExperience in ETL / Data application developmentAt Snap, we believe that having a team of diverse backgrounds and voices working together will enable us to create innovative products that improve the way people live and communicate.
