Cloud Security Engineer

This job plans, researches, evaluates, designs and develops Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) Infrastructure systems by applying engineering, hardware and software design theories and principles to develop a compatible system infrastructure in line with organizational strategies. Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of ISRM Infrastructure components such as operating systems, software tools, and utilities. Conducts studies of ISRM Infrastructure performance and traffic analysis. Determines systems design requirements and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Generate ISRM Infrastructure engineering policies, standards and procedures. Mentors team members.

Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for the secure operations of cloud infrastructure, platforms, and software, including the installation, maintenance, and improvement of cloud computing environments. Also help develop new designs and security strategies across cloud-based applications, including infrastructure, platform, and SaaS.

This individual will be responsible for the below:

– Architect, build and maintain security controls in the Cloud environment

– Develop design patterns, standards and best practices for Cloud security

– Build large scale IaC using Terraform

– Support engineering teams in developing secure Cloud infrastructure

– Design and configure monitoring solutions (Splunk)

– Identify gaps in our security posture and prioritize remediation efforts

– Knowledge and understanding of application and security event logging systems

– Review cloud architecture and advise development teams on strong Network and Infrastructure Security Design principles and identification of issues prior to systems or features deployed

– A development background, familiarity with cloud-based security tools, automation, DevOps, and full stack engineering.

– Design and develop automation workflows, performing unit tests and conducting reviews

– Create and maintain documentation as it relates to cloud security designs/configurations, processes, standards and recommendations.

– Collaborate with senior management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term cloud security needs

Job Requirements:

 Required:

– Previous experience with Google, Azure, AWS or Oracle Cloud

– Required: Bachelor’s Degree, Concentration in In relevant field and/or 7 plus years of work experience in the IT Security field.

– IaC using Terraform

 

Preferred:

– Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, CSSLP, GWAPT

– Jenkins, Puppet
