Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced CAD / Engineering Technician to be based in Los Angeles, California for East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit project.
JOB INFORMATION:
While the position is primarily for East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project, AECOM has an impressive backlog of significant transportation projects in the Greater Los Angeles area and transit/rail projects across the West Region and provides exceptional opportunity for professional growth. This position is based out of our Downtown Los Angeles office location and requires full time office presence through the design duration of the project, expected for 24 months.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Perform a variety of CAD tasks in support of the Systems Design Engineering staff
+ Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety, and/or code requirements.
+ Works under general supervision of Systems Design Team and Project BIM Manager performing technical work utilizing a wide variety of resources.
+ Performs CADD assignments and coordinates CADD drawing production in support of the Systems Design objectives such as Traction Power, Communications, Overhead Catenary Systems, Train Control and Systemwide Ductbank, etc.
+ Performs applications, scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlines.
+ Digitizes or traces sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
+ Mentor junior drafters.
+ Will be responsible for adhering to project CADD standards for setting up base files, detail sheets and managing reference files.
+ Experience detailing traction power substations and ducts and conduits, Overhead Catenary Systems and systemwide Ductbank, etc.
+ Familiarity with NEC standards
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
+ BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ 6+ years of experience in Revit, AutoCAD/Civil 3D software
+ Proficiency in MicroStation, BIM 360, Projectwise, and Geopak.
+ Experience with the production of engineering design drawings.
+ 5 years of related design experience in Rail and Transit Systems.
+ Will be responsible for adhering to project CADD standards for setting up base files, detail sheets, and managing reference files.

+ The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $81,000 – $149,000.
