The Business Systems Analyst/Developer will work on mission-critical projects to identify, analyze, and map business requirements into technical specifications and implement solutions and processes to satisfy Aristotle’s growing business needs. This role will engage closely with the Operations, Trading, Compliance, and other teams. Its primary focus is to assist with the support and integration of Aristotle’s core investment systems, e.g., portfolio accounting, trading, data reconciliation, and reporting. This position will report to the Vice President, Business Solutions. What You Will Do: Provide support for existing business applications – Advent Geneva portfolio accounting system, Charles River trading system, SS&C reconciliation system, reporting deliverables, Factset, Bloomberg, and other internal and external systems. Develop integration functionality supporting front, middle, and back-office teams on business applications related to security master, market data, settlements, data reconciliation, and performance measurement. Work with cross-functional teams to develop business and systems requirements, user interface design, data modeling, systems designs, and interface specifications. Analyze business requirements, construct workflow diagrams, write specifications, and technical documentation. Develop automation scripts to improve operational efficiencies across the firm. Develop new workflows or enhance existing workflows to meet business requirements. Assist with system testing; plan for and perform disaster recovery testing. Coordinate software implementations and upgrades with vendors and outside consultants. Write database queries to provide data extracts and reports. Document results of data analysis in a comprehensive, clear, and concise manner. Act as a relationship manager and key liaison between users and data market vendors and technology service providers (FactSet, Bloomberg, Advent, etc.). Provide application support, communicate with users on systems status, upcoming system changes, and enhancements. What You Will Need: Experience with the following strongly desired: Advent Geneva, Charles River, Factset and Bloomberg interfaces. Experience with SQL, MS SQL Server, ETL tools, and SSRS or other reporting platforms. Experience with C#/.NET development preferred. Experience with Autosys, Tidal, or another workflow automation system. Experience developing Powershell scripts, batch files, or UNIX shell scripts. Experience with Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on advanced Excel skills. Experience working with security data across financial markets, including equities and fixed income securities, bank loans, and derivatives like futures and forwards. Must be systems-oriented, enjoy learning new products and tools, and be a self-motivated learner. Must be able to prioritize work, have strong organizational skills, be a team player, and be able to work independently under tight deadlines. Advanced problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and critically analyze processes and procedures in a push toward constant improvement. Strong attention to detail; strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task; be self-motivated and team-oriented. Strong communication and writing skills. Four-year degree from accredited college or university or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3+ years’ work experience in the asset management industry providing and supporting business solutions.
