Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer for their Advanced Information Technology (AIT) Team located in Seal Beach, CA.

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of an amazing, collaborative team working on proprietary programs.

As a highly productive, talented, self-motivated, and creative member of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, you will workwith multiple engineering and support groups, on both ongoing operational efforts and exciting future projects.

This exciting software engineer position requires demonstrated experience in software development (traditional and web-based) and database management (schema design/implementation and scripting), a diverse background of project experience, and the clear exhibition of superior judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities of multiple software programming projects.

Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required.

Primary responsibilities:Software design, coding, and unit/integration testing (including plans, procedures and results)Develop & maintain new and existing applications (traditional, web, and/or database)Perform software lifecycle management, including requirements analysis, detailed design, coding, unit/integration testing, maintenance, and user support (including documentation/training)Troubleshoot and resolve various software and system issues reported by end users.Develop, select, tailor and deploy software processes, tools and metricsInterface with internal and external stakeholders to develop software/application requirements, writing informative documentation, and providing user training & supportWork with a technically diverse user community and a multi-disciplined integrated product team (e.G., systems, cybersecurity, and software)Collaborate effectively within a small team environment, as well as working tasks independently with minimal direction This position allows telecommuting.

The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Active Top Secret/SCI clearance, for which the U.S.

TS/SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start)Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree3+ years of experience in the following areas: programming (e.G., C++, ColdFusion, Perl, Python, Bash, PHP, Fortran), operating systems (e.G., Windows, Unix, Solaris)1+ years of experience with relational databases (e.G., Oracle) and database management tasks, including, but not limited to schema design/implementation, scripting (e.G., PL/SQL, stored procedures) and schema-level troubleshooting Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):CompTIA Security+ Certification (Active; certification required prior to start)Solid foundation in computer science and a genuine interest in software programming to investigate and solve challenging problemsWillingness to learn (a self-learner), proactively investigate new and collaborate with team membersDemonstrated experience in software application and tool development and maintenance, including requirements analysis, detailed design, coding, unit testing/integration, configuration management, deployment, maintenance, and user supportDemonstrated experience with data manipulation and conversions across application, operating system, and system boundariesExperience with lean/agile fundamentals and supporting tools (e.G., JIRA)Experience with configuration management tools (e.G., CVS and TkCVS, Git and BitBucket)Experience with peer review tools (e.G., Crucible/Fisheye) Typical Education/Experience:Education and Experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
