BI Developer

Summary The Business Intelligence Developer will collaborate with business and technology leaders in order to identify key business and functional requirements to drive the design, development, implementation, and delivery of data dashboards, solutions, and insights. The Analytics Developer will ensure technical quality, accuracy, and efficiency of analysis to support the enterprise business units such as Health Benefits, Medical Claims, Retirement Services, Call Center, Operations, etc. Qualifications Bachelorrsquos degree or comparable work experience Highly-motivated professional with 5+ years of combined experience in BI operations and data modeling 5+ yearsrsquo experience in data preparation, data analysis, data mining, advanced report writing, user acceptance testing, and data presentation 4+ yearsrsquo experience using BI tools (i.e. Tableau, Alteryx, Qlik, PowerBI, IBM, etc.) to create interactive data visualizations and reports 3+ yearsrsquo working in health plan operations with knowledge of retirement andor pension application data preferred 2+ yearsrsquo experience working with Tableau Desktop and Alteryx Designer 1+ yearsrsquo administrator experience working with Tableau Server and Alteryx Server Advanced SQL writing using data warehousing, star schema, data marts, master data, Tableau development, and Alteryx workflow skills Exposure to ETL tools such as SSIS, Alteryx, Informatica, etc. Experience with SDLC methodologies Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilities Experience with advanced statistical analysis, statistical data models, data science methodologies and technologies or has the desire to advance into the data science discipline Experience with performance dashboards, balanced scorecards, and strategic management Excellent ability to elicit, gather, manage, and translate requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects Demonstrated strong business acumen when communicating and presenting to stakeholders Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities Advanced technical documentation skills Knowledge of healthcare application data sources preferred (EMR, Medical ClaimsBilling, Prescription Drug Claims, etc.) Knowledge of healthcare data analysis cores preferred (Utilization, HEDIS, Patient Risk Stratification, Medical Risk AdjustmentHCC Management, etc.) Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques Essential Duties and Responsibilities Elicit and understand requirements from the business in order to develop and deliver analytic data models that support business intelligence dashboards, subject area analysis, and statistical analysis Provide front-end development and delivery of Business Intelligence and Analytical solutions Develop interactive and insightful Tableau visualizations and stories that are easily understood Design, develop, deploy, and manage Tableau datasets and Alteryx apps and workflows Own the administration of the analytic servers Perform high-level data analysis, dashboard interface design, develop user acceptance testing (UAT) criteria, and BI documentation Apply agile approaches for proof-of-concept requirements using iterative methods to help drive and refine dashboard mockupsprototyping to avoid pre-mature decisions and solutions Enable analytic end-users by onboarding new end-users to the analytic platforms while providing recurring training workshops, prototype sessions, and holding office hours Develop and deliver enablement sessions and training presentations to BI stakeholders Provide business departments and stakeholders with operational support around existing and newly developed data solutions Support andor redesign existing Tableau and Alteryx solutions Apply thoughtful adaptability when managing intake requests across the business units Ensure critical milestones are met by tracking, monitoring, and making status visible to requesters and manager Identify, report, and escalate risks to manager and stakeholders appropriately Communicate and present analysis to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders across the organization Professionally communicate to technical and non-technical staff written, oral, and formal presentations Engage with BI and data warehouse team to manage priorities, during design sessions, or peer review sessions while simultaneously adhering to RACI matrix during development Set a cadence for stakeholder and team feedback Apply broad and deep approach to develop optimal data solutions Use creativity to solve data and analytical problems for the organization Work to ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, etc.) in all aspects of data utilization and information access Discern which problems are important to solve for stakeholders, in addition to offering new ways the stakeholders should leverage their data Support cross-organizational initiatives to improve key performance indicators, offering suggestions as to how information can be used more effectively to improve business performance Keep current with BI and Data Analytics trends to understand best practices. Perform other duties as assigned.
