This job is focused on very complex data mining analysis, coordinating the activities of a project team, and developing complex strategic report applications.Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:Determines how decision support systems will provide the data required to make effective business decisions.Coordinate and monitor analytic and reporting effortsCoordinate projects across business units, including coordination with enterprise teamsCoach and mentor team membersPerforms modeling of information sources and flows.May coordinate the activities of a project team and monitors project schedules and costs for own projects.Develops strategic report applications from the Data Warehouse.Establishes and maintains excellent knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, programming languages, and data integrity issues.Develops and supports complex data warehouse-related applications for business areas requiring design and implementation of database tables.Conducts training on use of applications developed.Research and recommend processes and applications to improve delivery of reporting and analytics deliverablesDevelops requirements documentsIdentify team training and tool needsPreferred Locations – Woodland Hills, Walnut Creek, or Sacramento, and Occasional travel to/within California will be required.At this time, Anthem will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.Preferred SkillsExperience working for a health insurance company and/or knowledge of health insurance industry functions is requiredKnowledge of health plan (preferably California-based) functions requiredEvidence of taking ownership of assigned projects from planning to execution through past work experienceOutstanding organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize successfullyWork experience that demonstrates exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with effective outreach across a matrixed virtual work environmentExperience managing work activities to meet established goals and deadlinesExpert level proficiency with MS ExcelProgramming ability to develop and modify SQL based queries, and experience with large datasets and relational databases is requiredTableau experience preferredMS Access experience preferredQualificationsQualifications:Requires a BS/BA degree; 4-5 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.PC, spreadsheet, and database skills, as well as experience in standard Business Information tools and programming/query languages is also required.
