Terrific Vice President of Policy and Strategic Initiatives (VP) position with a rapidly growing think tank in Washington, D.C. The VP will guide the organization’s advocacy and policy efforts in several policy areas, including economic security, the impact of race and gender, and health-related issues. The VP will build their policy framework and implement various advocacy strategies to maximize the impact of the organization’s research. This shall include developing strategic partnerships that broaden the organization’s reach. The position will collaborate with the leadership team on developing policy priorities and identifying potential funding support. The VP will be responsible for building and mentoring a team from the ground up. Qualified candidates will have approximately 10 years of relevant experience with either a Master’s degree or PhD. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design overall policy priorities in conjunction with the leadership team
- Develop and execute a policy and advocacy plan
- Establish strategic initiatives and develop partnerships to increase the organization’s impact
- Cultivate relationships with Congressional offices
- Collaborate with colleagues in advancement and communications on various initiatives
- Build, manage and mentor a team of policy and advocacy professionals
