Wayfinder Family Services ensures that children, youth, and adults facing challenges always have a place to turn.In exchange for your talent, Wayfinder offers an excellent benefits package, which includes the following:This role is eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)Competitive salary Sign-on bonus for eligible rolesFlexible schedules depending on the position (some offering hybrid)Medical insurance with a $30 premium per paycheck coverage plan (employee-only)Dental insurance 100% employer paid for HMO coverage plan (employee-only)401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 4 paid holidays per year and a generous paid time off policyFive winter holidays (between Christmas Eve & New Year’s Day)Education Reimbursement ProgramRobust training opportunities: Shared Core Practice Model, Trauma-Informed Care, Evidence-based PracticesClinical Supervision for licensurePayroll Specialist ResponsibilitiesPerforms daily payroll operations.Processes payroll accurately, on time and utilizes proper payroll procedures in a bi-weekly basis.Collects and audits electronic time cards, adjustment sheets and all other related supporting documentation and audits them for accuracy and completeness within scheduled timeframes.Review wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll records prior to transmission and validate confirmed Paycom reports.Distributes payroll checks to each department on a timely basis.Serves as a the liaison with Paycom regarding any updates, issues or adjustment to the payroll which includes but is not limited to, setting up new employees in Paycom, garnishment payments, 401(k) plan changes, workers compensation classification changes and updating the changes in Paycom.Audits all additions, deletions, changes in salaries, voided checks, manual checks, payroll authorizations, employee stats change documentation, and update payroll records in Paycom.Transmits 401(k) employer and employee contribution to Mutual of America each pay period in accordance with established deadlines.Updates payroll records and related information in Paycom as needed.Files and maintains payroll records such as Paycom reports, adjustment sheets, and other related documentation in compliance with labor laws, and other federal or state regulations governing payroll records.Provides employee training to new hires, payroll managers and department heads in established payroll procedures.Audits, participates, and provides data and information for internal and external audits.Generates monthly and quarterly reports as scheduled in our Human Resources Quality Assurance Compliance calendar; develop queries and prepare unique data searches and reports as needed.Conducts bi-weekly time sheet audits to ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.Audits performance appraisal worksheets and required forms and updates performance appraisal information into Paycom.Updates Payroll Procedure Manual for designated areas of responsibility.Provides support on special projects to the Senior Director of Human Resources and Director of Talent Management as requested.Keeps current on federal and state wage and hour laws and regulations and maintains compliance.Assists to streamline payroll systems and process to improve efficiency of payroll processing.Attends and participates in workshops, seminars, etc., to keep current in changes in Payroll administration and incorporates best practices.Works closely with Payroll Assistant and provide him/her training to ensure Payroll Assistant can achieve proficiency in all the areas of our payroll system to serve as a backup for the Payroll Specialist position when needed.Promotes and participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by identifying quality indicators and opportunities for departmental and organizational process improvement.Report any incidents/accidents according to incident reporting procedures and protocols, within designated timelines.Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent employee information.Ensures the sensitivity to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.May perform other duties and responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by the Senior Director of Human Resources.Required Education, Skills, and ExperienceMinimum of four years of payroll experience is required.Knowledge and ability to use Paycom payroll software system is preferredAdvanced computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.Ability to perform highly exacting and complex work.Ability and willingness to seek out best practices, new methods, and principles, and willing to incorporate them into existing practices.Ability to implement initiatives, streamline and/or enhance processes and drive projects to completion.Additional RequirementsAll employees must be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus as a condition of employment.
