Job Title: Payroll Specialist Reports to (title): Payroll Manager
Department: Payroll Department
Primary Purpose: What is the overall function of the job?
Coordinate the day-to-day requirements for payroll processing, system configuration, and reporting of payroll data.
Key Accountability/Responsibilities: What specifically is this job expected to accomplish?
Deliver accurate and timely payroll to employees across various regions.
Process payroll administration, record of employment, and monthly reporting.
Monitor payroll inboxes and provide corrective action in compliance with company policies and procedures. Respond to inquiries from management and staff regarding payroll, vacation, and sick time balances.
Collaborate with ADP on Time clock changes, time system inquiries, and maintenance
Customized reporting & importing mass batch files
Maintenance of PTO (vacation and sick days) plans
Pay Class set up and maintenance for time and attendance inquiries
Administer GL Mapping and creating new earnings or deduction codes with ADP
Preparation of monthly JE for payroll, monthly reports, accruals, and WCB for all regions
Maintain documentation of Payroll processes and procedures
Compliance for audits with proper save keeping of payroll documents with employee transactions
Administer benefit payments
Respond to inquiries from Finance regarding monthly salary variances and month-end reporting
Process year-end T4 adjustments and related filings for T4/T4A/RL1/T2200/WCB for payroll tax requirements for year-end reporting.

Skills and Knowledge: What skills and knowledge are used to carry out job responsibilities and solve problems?
PCP designation an asset.
College diploma in accounting or related field an asset.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now
6-7 years of payroll processing experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a good listener.
Good organization skills and can multi-task, and the ability to work independently
Strong experience working with technology, Microsoft Excel required.
Detail-oriented, with good judgment and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of various legislation, such as the Income Tax Act and Employment Standards Act, to ensure appropriate payments and deductions related to payroll deposits
