The successful candidate will assist with the semi-monthly U.S.
multi-state and monthly international payroll functions.
They will also assist with all payroll regulatory filings and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
The role will have responsibility for all payroll accounting activities, such as month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, preparing, reviewing and approving journal entries and accruals, account reconciliations and flux analysis, as well as audit support and documentation.
Compensation: $77,900.00
– $97,400.00

Tier 3 encompasses salary ranges 20% less than those in Tier 1 for states with smaller cities (including our Ohio office, Nevada, etc)

Responsibilities:
Participate in all aspects of payroll processing from start to finish for US and international entities – e.g., assisting new hires, verifying employee data changes, auditing retro pay results, auditing pay inputs from 3rd-parties, processing on-cycle and off-cycle pay results, calculating vacation payouts and final paychecks, and preparing W2s
Process payroll data and calculations regarding: bonuses, commissions, severance, benefit changes, garnishments, expatriates, visas, stock transactions, new hires, leaves of absence, terminations, rate changes, direct deposit information, and tax withholding
Administer the time tracking system, including but not limited to auditing timesheets, and assisting employees and managers with timesheet entries related inquiries
Work closely with People team to ensure changes to employees’ data (including pay rates, addresses, departments, benefits etc) are made accurately and timely basis for payroll processing
Work with our payroll tax vendor to meet tax filing and remittance obligations, file amendments, register in new states, and resolve tax notices timely
Prepare the 401(k) contribution upload file after each payroll
Provide prompt, friendly and efficient customer service to employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions and payroll process
Responsible for payroll related journal entries and prepare reconciliations and variance analysis for payroll related balance sheet accounts
Assist with financial audits as it relates to payroll, as well as worker’s compensation and 401K audits and other adhoc information requests and reporting tasks
Improve the documentation of internal payroll policies and procedures
Perform other special projects and analyses as directed by management
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience, including experience with processing a full cycle payroll
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, or relevant degree
Strong excel, communication (written and verbal), and analytical skills, a must
Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and maintain confidential matters, is a must
Reliability, punctuality, and an overall strong work ethic
Strong multistate tax expertise across a wide range of earnings and benefits
Excellent problem-solving skills and judgment
Flexibility to adapt within a fast-paced, changing environment
A clear and friendly communication style, both written and verbal
Process improvement mentality, strongly preferred
Experience using a full cycle payroll system such as: Workday, Paylocity, or UltiPro, strongly preferred
International payroll experience preferred
CPP or FPC designation, or working towards such designation, preferred
