Based in Los Angeles, California, the Payroll Administrator position is a short-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity.

Your responsibilities

– Reviewing and verifying source documents

– Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

– Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll

– Handle other duties as necessary

– Protect confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence

– Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data

– Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

– Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary

– Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepancies

– Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

– Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments

– Reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities as needed

– Put together for department heads the circulation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports

– Answer questions and requests related to payroll information

Job Requirements:
– Experience using accounting software

– General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred

– Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

– Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

– 1+ years of payroll experience

– Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

– Knowledgeable about internal controls

– Prior experience working with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

– Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred

– Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

– Proven knowledge of Garnishment Calculations

– Multistate Payroll experience

– Full Cycle Payroll experience required

– Comprehensive knowledge of ADP Workforce Now

– Well-founded grasp of garnishments payroll

– W2 experience

– Strong familiarity with benefits payroll
