Your responsibilities

– Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes

– Preparing relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for circulation to department heads

– Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities

– Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages as part of report preparation

– Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential

– Handle other duties as necessary

– Manage payroll information requests and questions

– Supporting all internal and external audits related to payroll

– Manage and review, including verify, source documents

– Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

– Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data

– Handle payroll record updates by keeping changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

– Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, ensure company compliance

– Able to reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities

Job Requirements:
– Outstanding data entry skills

– Time Cards experience desired

– Knowledge of Time Cards

– Multistate Payroll experience

– Well-founded grasp of Paycom

– Proven knowledge of garnishments payroll

– Payroll for over 500 employees experience highly desired

– Strong familiarity with Full Cycle Payroll

– 5+ years of payroll experience

– Knowledgeable about federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

– Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

– Previous experience handling high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

– Understanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

– Mastery of internal controls

– Meet and uphold Certified Payroll Professional criteria

– Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular

– Prior experience using accounting software
