Job Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) III is a hands-on, high level, Human Resources Generalist. The incumbents serve as next in command in the absence of, or direction of, the Senior Director of Human Resources Business Support Services. The HRBP III works in partnership with the management and leadership across the organization, to deliver value added Human Resources (HR) services to management and employees in line with established policy, practices and the law, in support of the business objectives of the organization.

On behalf of the Senior Director, Human Resource Business Support Services, the HRBP III provides human resources expertise and advocacy to both management and employees in the areas of standards of conduct, performance management, policies and procedures, retention strategies and internal investigations. Additionally, this position serves as a consultant to management and leadership on all HR related issues and matters. The HRBP IIII educates and advises management and employees on state and federal employment laws, HR policies and procedures. Delivers high quality decisions and provides consistent and appropriate counsel to management and staff to maintain a productive and positive work environment, while resulting in optimal performance. The incumbent will also provide conflict resolution as needed, along with analysis on specific trends related to areas of responsibility. The HRBP III collaborates with senior HR leadership on changes in employment law and HR best practices to ensure that all human resources policies and procedures, as well as the employee handbook, are up to date with best practices. Additionally, the HRBP III will partner with the Career Services team, as necessary, in an effort to provide management with information on latest changes in employment law, and organizational policies and procedures. This position ensures that the facts and details are correct so that the project’s/program’s deliverable meets the needs of the department, organization and legislation’s policies, standards, and best practices. Additional assignments include coaching and mentoring less experienced HRBP team members, and serves as a point of escalation on behalf of the Senior Director of HR Business Support Services, on the most complex employee relations matters.

Duties

Provides strategic HR leadership and proactive consultation focused on creating innovative HR strategies to anticipate and assess HR operations and needs in assigned business units, including HR trends, challenges, threats, and HR solutions.

Designs and executes strategies to increase team and individual performance in assigned business units, to improve the business unit’s capabilities to deliver against business goals and objectives.

Collaborates with HR functional partners to execute human resources strategies to enable business objectives and support future business growth. Consults across business operations, providing mentorship, and contributing specialized knowledge.

Delivers HR services to assigned business units resulting in a seamless point of contact to the broader HR organization and ensuring successful integration of functional partner initiatives and expertise. Maintains an effective level of business literacy to provide a consultative approach to delivery of HR services; and leverage HR business skill and knowledge to challenge or influence leadership in decision-making processes.

Provide HR subject matter expertise and management team development opportunities to leadership of assigned business units.

Evaluates business operations and processes. Identifies areas where technical solutions would improve business performance. Establishes procedures to ensure all internal customers are assisted appropriately and in a timely manner.

Participates in the preparation of employee development plans and other transactional services for assigned business units and monitor performance progress.

Maintains compliance with state, federal and local employment laws in addition to organizational policies and procedures.

Bachelor’s Degree

In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
