Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Provides administrative and project support to one or more functional areas of Human Resources, such as recruitment and staffing, personnel records, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation administration, payroll, training, etc. Coordinates employee activities/programs.
- Facilitates and/or processes various applications, employment, enrollment, pay change, informational, and other confidential records and forms. May have responsibility for maintaining paper or electronic files.
- Responds to routine questions on human resources policies and procedures. Triages more complex questions/issues to the appropriate staff.
- May participate in sourcing, recruiting, screening, interviewing, checking references, making offers, coordinating relocation, and coordinating orientation for internal/external applicants and new employees in order to fill current or expected job vacancies. Participates in ensuring compliance to company policies, practices, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
- May participate in the administration and maintenance of group benefit programs.
- May administer, organize, and conduct company training and educational programs. Participates in monitoring and reporting on training.
- May perform duties involving employee communications.
- Compiles statistics for management’s use and/or participates in preparing reports for internal or external use.
- Builds working knowledge of employment law, various human resources functions, and current trends.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: Associate degree or equivalent.
Field of Study: Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
Experience: 2 to 4 years of related experience; may be entry level for a candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree. Progress toward the completion of a professional designation preferred, such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
