Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst

The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking experienced individuals with the skillset to support LACOE’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system modernization project.

Under general direction, the Human Capital Management (HCM) Systems Analyst develops functional specifications and coordinates the implementation and testing of modifications and enhancements of HCM business systems in the areas of human resources, payroll, and/or retirement reporting. The HCM Systems Analyst also performs a variety of analytical and technical duties in support of fiscal and reporting compliance for Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and/or its client agencies.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Knowledge:

  • Terminology, methods, practices, and techniques of design, administration, research, testing, and assessment of human resources, payroll, and retirement reporting business systems
  • Applicable federal, state, and local laws related to human resources, payroll, and retirement
  • Human resources, payroll, and retirement reporting policies and procedures
  • Financial recordkeeping and spreadsheet and database management
  • Public agency accounting principles and practices
  • Principles and practices of project management
  • Basic arithmetic
  • Appropriate methods of training, group facilitation, and instructional techniques
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications

Required Education and Experience

Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, computer/management information systems or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience: Three years of experience providing customer support and conducting system testing within human resources, payroll, or retirement reporting automated business systems.

Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.
