We are looking for a Human Resource Generalist/Specialist to join our team.
This position would be located in Southern California either based out of our Los Angeles or San Diego office.
You would be responsible for 200 to 300 employee’s lifecycles from onboarding, payroll changes, training, performance, and offboarding.
In addition, you will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s Human Resource Department.Core Responsibilities+ Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to background checks, compensation changes, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.+ Responsible for payroll changes/adjustments including answering employee questions, and compensation and title changes.+ Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource electronic files, records, and documentation, while adhering to the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.+ Supports immigration programs and assists foreign citizens with immigration procedures.
Assists with the preparation of applications and petitions for PERMS, H-1B, and TN visas.
Ensures all paperwork, including applications for immigration and visas are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Manage employee immigration files, public access files, required postings, and I-9 reverifications.+ Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.+ Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to HR Manager.+ Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.+ Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide newsletters, and employee recognition events.Additional Responsibilities+ Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.+ Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.+ Possibility of responsibility to monitor office supplies and ordering new stationery, furniture, appliances, and electronics as required, if located in San Diego.+ Provides clerical support to the HR department.+ Performs other duties as assigned.Number of Openings1 Position RequirementsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities+ Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, specifically California.+ Knowledge of processing visas and working with attorneys and candidates on immigration needs+ Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.+ Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.+ Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Education and Experience+ 3 to 5 years of experience in the HR field+ SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional (PHR) credential is a plus.+ Associate degree in HR-related field required (Bachelor’s preferred)+ Experience with ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred+ Strong working knowledge in U.S.
visa types, processes, and immigration laws is preferred+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an office environment.
