Job Summary: 61st Street Service Corporation is looking for an HR Generalist with outstanding Human Resources knowledge, high analytical and communication skills.

This position will present various trainings and programs and must be comfortable with public speaking.

The ideal candidate is expected to be a conceptual thinker with strong organizational and conflict management skills.

Must have excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with a “Hands On” focusUnder the direction of the Directors, this position will assist in coordinating the administration of human resources procedures, and programs.

The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, learning & development, and recruitment.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:HUMAN RESOURCES /EMPLOYEE RELATIONSServe as HR resource to departments for employee relations issues such as coaching, counseling, and the disciplinary action processAssist Directors in employee complaint investigationsServe as Liaison with third party administrator for unemployment paperwork processing & responsesAttend Department of Labor hearings on behalf of the employer as neededCreate monthly reporting for unemployment decisions for tracking & analysisProvide guidance on Performance Management to clientRECRUITMENT & HIRING PROCESSAssists with the internal recruitment process by identifying qualified candidates, conducting interviews and reference checks as needed, Float Pool Program recruitment collaborationConduct New Hire Orientation sessions as neededConduct New Managers orientation as neededAssists in rollout & coordination of variousHuman Resource initiatives as assignedFacilitate and coordinate Annual Employee Appreciation ProgramAssists with all Employee Engagement effortsConduct internal HR audits as neededOther related duties and projects as assignedSkills:Strong organizational skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staffStrong computer skills, knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skillsMust be able to work independently and follow established structures and processesMust be detail-oriented and able to navigate multiple deadlinesMust have previous recruitment experience, including strong interviewing skillsPrevious exposure to Learning and Development programs preferablePrevious project management experience helpfulMust maintain a high level of discretionQualifications:Bachelor’s degree required or 6 years direct Human Resource experience can substitute for a degreeMinimum 2 years of Human Resources employee relations experience required.Must possess considerable knowledge of principles and practices of HR administrationPreferred Certifications: PHR and/or SHRM-CP
