ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
The HR/Payroll Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support and performing a variety of Human Resources and Payroll functions.

These functions include preparing and maintaining payroll and timesheet reports, timesheet audits, benefits enrollment packets, new hire orientation packets and other human resources forms, and performing all other responsibilities as directed.

The Coordinator also ensures all records, orientation programs, forms processing, and handling of confidential and time-sensitive documents are kept in line with policy and established practice.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Payroll & Reporting: Working closely with the Payroll/HRIS Analyst out of our Los Angeles location, will assist with the payroll process, ensuring the timely data entry of changes to employee files through ADP WorkforceNow.

Working closely with the Payroll/HRIS Analyst, will run reports and check accuracy of overtime, absences, incentive or differential pay, etc.

Assist with preparing reports and auditing information.

Process workers’ compensation claims reports and ensure OSHA Log 300 completion.
Talent & Recruitment: Handle staffing and recruiting requests by posting job ads, reviewing incoming resumes, assist with interview scheduling, and ensuring prompt and timely closure of open jobs.

Work with HR Generalist and Talent & Culture Lead out of our City of Industry location, on-boarding all new employees.

Emphasize the importance of building healthy teams and business relationships through empathy, respect, fairness and adherence to applicable state and federal laws.
Compliance: Work with the HR team to process insurance bills and service invoices such as background checks, pre-employment physical exams, etc.

Communicate all concerns regarding HR, Payroll and Staffing to the appropriate Supervisor on a timely basis.

Answer employee questions about policies and procedures, and refer to other HR team members as needed.

Maintains and audits personnel files for current and terminated employees according to protocol.

Provide customer-centric, responsive and accurate information to internal clients through phone, in-person and email interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School diploma required; 1–2 years’ experience in Payroll or Human Resources within a non-profit or unionized environment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge of CA employment and wage & hour laws.

Must be resourceful and possess good analytical skills with the ability to think creatively to solve problems
*
Ability to work cohesively as a team as well as work independently, demonstrating a service-first ethic
*
Well organized and detail oriented, highly adaptable and be able to maintain challenging projects
*
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with strong EQ and relationship-building skills
*
Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation.

Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and use of the Internet, with working knowledge of HRIS systems such as Paychex, ADP, etc.

Must possess valid CA driver license and insured vehicle
