Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the timely and accurate processing of the Company’s payroll, as well as the timely and accurate reconciliation of the Company’s payroll related taxesOversee Payroll staffs daily activities, provide direction and feedback, monitor and re-evaluate workload distribution, and adjust workload as necessaryResponsible for overseeing payroll tax compliance including current and upcoming regulationsEvaluate direct reports and provide periodic feedback on their development plansEnsure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needsSupport the quarter, fiscal, and calendar year-end payroll operationsMonitor, maintain, and improve customer service effectivenessResponsible for auditing quality control processesResponsible for auditing monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax reportingResponsible for auditing garnishment processes and handling proceduresResponsible for auditing bank reconciliation including payroll cash account, bank statements to GL, and payroll stale-dated checksResponsible for auditing and reporting Labor and Employment statistics surveysEvaluate system changes to maintain compliance with all agenciesAccountable for ongoing management of effective relationship as a main point of contact for internal departments and external vendorsInterpret day-to-day business objectives and preparation/execution of operational practices/work programsManage many changing priorities while meeting mandatory deadlinesIdentify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processesDirects work within clear budgetary guidelinesFacilitate weekly (as required) team meetingsCover for team members in back-up role for vacation and/or high-volume work effortsApprove and release manual off-cycle check paymentsAdditional duties as assigned by managementRegular attendance is a required essential function of the positionRequirementsJob Qualifications – Education and ExperienceRequiredMinimum of 4 years payroll supervisor experience in a multi-state (40+) payroll processing environmentExperience processing a multi-state payroll for over 20,000 employeesPreferredCPP or FPC certified highly desiredWorking knowledge of UltiPro, Kronos, and ADP EV5 are highly desiredAssociates or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance desiredJob Qualifications SkillsRequiredDetailed knowledge Federal and State tax compliance and garnishmentsAs a leader, must be willing to consistently go above and beyondAbility to develop, improve, document and follow processesStrong system and Excel skillsAbility to provide high quality deliverables while meeting deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately communicates with all levels of customers from assistants to Sr.
