CLASSIFIED ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY (JOB # 1665) EDUCATION CENTER TITLE OF POSITION: ACCOUNT TECH II – CLASSIFIED PAYROLL
DEFINITION: Under general supervision, to perform the more difficult and complex account, financial, and statistical record keeping work, including maintenance and general analysis of an accounting function or group of functions.
DUTIES: Using computer, prepare pay warrants and registers, reconcile payroll records, and payroll taxes. Process and complete accounts payable procedure for payment of employee deductions to appropriate vendors; gather data and prepare district, county and state reports; interpret and apply appropriate rules and regulations; answer questions regarding financial and accounting procedures; accounting procedures; account balances and related matters. May prepare reports related to the above duties. Do other related work as may be required.
REQUIREMENTS: Keyboard skills at a rate of 50 words per minute from clear copy containing a large percentage of numerical or tabular data is highly desirable; operate a calculator and adding machine efficiently; proficient operation of computer terminals and programs related to accounting. Candidates must also pass District administered test to be considered for interview.
EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in accounting, bookkeeping, office machines or business office practices; and four (4) years of responsible experience involving financial and statistical records maintenance, or acceptable experience equivalent to an Accounting Tech I in the Duarte Unified School District.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Five (5) days per week, Eight (8) hours per day Twelve (12) months
