This role is responsible for researching and qualifying customer requirements and leading the business development of solutions from discovery through all phases of development and delivery.
This role requires frequent collaboration with external and internal stakeholders across all functions and at all management levels and is expected to contribute directly to corporate growth strategies.ResponsibilitiesAct as customer evangelist, futurist, business process specialist; translating insights into opportunities and able to determine commercial viability of new customer solutions to include: new products, new services, and new business modelsThrough various methods of research, this position is responsible for identifying and architecting the key requirements of new solutions; translating the vision of new solutions to concept teams and managing the evolution of the proof of concept until value/cost objectives are achievedProvides design requirements and business case targets to development teams for detail design.
Provides ongoing strategic support throughout all development and go-to-market phasesDevelop an extensive external peer network to include but not limited to: industry thought leaders, experts in academia, and distribution partners.
Engages external peer network in the research and evaluation of potential customer solutionsKeeps current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Works with the executive team and peers to assure the organization has the necessary leadership and technical capabilities to deliver results in the form of increased revenue and profitabilityMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or other relevant disciplinesMedical device or highly regulated product category experience during career is preferred20 years of experience, with minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role, working within an innovation, product management, research and strategy and/or business expansion environmentEntrepreneurial driveSkilled at development of new revenue through innovation/acquisition and executing on the initiativeFluent in front end design and development through to commercializationExperience in innovation and follow through to commercialization of products that have multiple sub systems; mechanical, electrical, fluids and/or softwareSuperior solutions framework design capability; holistic, cross-functional thinkerDemonstrated ability to translate complex sets of customer and business requirements into viable concepts and innovative customer solutions.High learning and organizational agility.
