Dishwasher:
Job Summary:
Wash, clean, polish and organize tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keep the dish-room and equipment clean and organized. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen area and designated areas of the front of the house.
The Dishwasher is one of the most crucial positions in a restaurant; without reliable dishwashers, restaurants cannot function. The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and cleaning tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. They also ensure that the dish-room and equipment are clean and organized. The Dishwasher maintains cleanliness of kitchen area, back loading dock and designated areas of the front of the house. The Dishwasher must know and follow all sanitation guidelines.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Polishes silver and glassware. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Loads, runs and unloads dish machine.
- Keeps the dish machine clean, report any functional or mechanical problems immediately, and monitor water temperature.
- Washes, sanitizes and stores all tableware and kitchenware according to Heath Department.
- Follows weekly cleaning schedule to maintain the standards of the restaurant.
- Keeps Dish Area clean and organized.
- Bags and hauls trash to dumpster at designated times.
- Handles tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Maintains adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies. If running low, inform Chef before it runs out.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Chef or manager-on-duty.
- Must have night-time availability, including weeeknds.
Qualifications:
- No previous restaurant experience required.
- Be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
- Be able to work in a standing position for up to 8 hours.
- Be able to safely lift bags, cases and stacks weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must have Food Handlers/ ServSafe certified.
- Always act in a positive, professional manner.
- Follow safety, sanitation rules and laws at all times.
