Job Description

Mission Community Hospital, a 145-bed acute care facility located in the San Fernando Valley, is currently searching for four full-time, Day, Wound Care Nurse positions for the Med. Surge/TELE Unit. 

Job Summary

The Wound Care Nurse is a specialized nursing position that is designed specifically to assist with treating and managing patient’s wounds. Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Wound Care Management Services, Wound Care Nurse responsibilities include assisting with coordination of treatment goals, implementation of treatment, and evaluation of clinical outcomes for patients throughout the organization.  Additional responsibilities include providing patient, family, and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections, and other wound management therapies. This position reports to the Director of Wound Care Management Services or his/her designee.

Qualifications

General Job Requirements, Certifications & Knowledge 

  • Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse  
  • BLS
  • Fire Card
  • Minimum two years skilled nursing or acute care primary care nursing experience required.
  • Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) preferred.
