Job Description

Synapse, a division of Meredith Corporation, is growing new subscription based consumer products and services that are being amplified through Meredith’s owned & operated channels as well as paid channels.

Two of those products are in the Health & Wellness vertical:
MyLife TM, a leading emotional wellness brand.

The main MyLife app allows users to check in and recommends short mindfulness activities tuned to how they feel.

MyLife has been downloaded over 5M times and has won a Webby People’s Voice Award for Best Health App.

The brand also extends to schools with the more recent launch of MyLife for Schools, targeting to middle and high school students.

4 Your Health , an all-in-one health resource, with a rapidly growing user base, offers unlimited on-demand access to doctors, nurses, wellness experts, recipes, and fitness classes.

4 Your Health, with its affordable and flexible model, is a particularly relevant product in a world where remote care is exploding and healthcare costs are increasing exponentially. 

We are looking for a VP & General Manager to manage these two high growth businesses.

This role will be critical to set the vision, strategy, and priorities for the business.

You will lead the team to execute on those objectives and significantly grow the revenue and profitability footprints of both businesses.

In this role, you will need to show leadership, initiative, innovation and a strong results-driven mindset.

You will:
Own the 3 year strategic planning for the MyLife and 4 Your Health businesses, including vision, key objectives and financial forecast Work with team leads to set the priorities for the business across content, marketing, product, operations, finance and engineering Lead the team, with a direct management line to content, marketing and operations, and a matrixed line to product, design, finance and engineering Own the P&L and key financial metrics Ensure a smooth execution of all key objectives that support the financial plan Spearhead partnership opportunities to grow the business Own the strategic relationship with all key Meredith stakeholders to maximize the opportunities for both businesses across all owned & operated distribution channels Participate as a key member of the Synapse executive team and provide input and ideas for the division as a whole
You have:
Minimum of 10 years as a direct P&L owner Proven ability to manage a variety of business functions including marketing, content, product and engineering Experience with subscription based products Demonstrated experience growing a business in a significant way Strong understanding of marketing, lead generation and partnerships Strong understanding of product and user experience Strong understanding of content and media Highly results orientated and data driven Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively Compassionate and caring leader Experience with mobile apps preferred
