Dermatopathologist-West Hills, CA
Our West Hills Campus is seeking a Dermatopathologist to join their team.
Key Performance Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate and timely diagnosis of the presence and stage of disease from a tissue specimen, utilizing appropriate laboratory procedures. Confers with other physicians as needed.
• Assigns the appropriate Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and the appropriate ICD-10 codes for the service(s) provided and the diagnosis rendered, following authoritative coding guidelines and company coding policies.
• Takes the initiative to improve quality in the work place. Supervises and coordinates activities of QA/QI to ensure quality care and evaluates the effectiveness of quality assurance policies and procedures to enhance standards and excellence of service.
• Actively builds upon education and experience through Continuing Medical Education.
• Manages medical, associate, and financial resources wisely. Provides others with the support necessary to successfully accomplish daily activities while monitoring and controlling costs.
• Provides advice to referring physicians regarding the clinical significance of laboratory findings.
• Participates in the development and monitoring of standards of performance in Quality Control and Quality Assurance and Improvement for the laboratory.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information concerning patients, physicians, employees, clients, vendors, and the Company.
• Complies with all State, Federal, professional regulations as well as department rules, polices, and procedural manuals.
• Adherence to Safety Regulations.
• Adherence to HIPAA Regulations.
Experience:
• Pathologist with 2+ years experience post fellowship preferred, but not required.
• Must be board certified in Dermatology or AP/CP and Dermatopathology
• Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations
• Ability to communicate with high level decision makers in the organization
Education, Licenses, Certifications
• Required: Medical Degree
• Required: Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
• Required: Subspecialty Dermatopathology fellowship at an accredited facility
• Required: Must hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in practice location or be eligible to obtain licensure
• Desired: Current valid unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of California.
