As the Sr. Capability Manager for Physician Workflow & Loading, you are responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of development necessary to meet the business needs within Provider Operations via capabilities that support the manual loading and maintenance of provider data by promoting data quality, improved turn-around-time and process efficiencies. As the key liaison between the business and technical teams, your analysis, documentation and communication skills are critical to exceeding your customer expectations and establishing and driving the product road map.

Primary Responsibilities

  • As the Sr. Capability Manager, acts as the domain specialist who owns and drives the vision for the product life cycle
  • Supports end-to-end coordination and alignment for product-related activities
  • Drive business work within the Agile process, sharing Business vision
  • Define and prioritize Features that will be groomed and developed by Product Development
  • Own the product at a Feature level, using Roadmap and Capabilities as a guide
  • Work closely with Optum IT Developments & Architecture, Finance and Business Teams to forecast and attack product-line investments
  • Lead Product Owners to ensure user story alignment across multiple agile teams
  • Provides oversight of release activities for the Business (i.e. communication, documentation, training and release notes, etc.). Works with the Program / Project Manager, User Acceptance Testing and Operational Readiness leads to ensure all stakeholder needs are addressed in the deployment plan
  • Ensures all system business rules and configurations meet regulatory, compliance and operational needs, and facilitates solutions between groups if discrepancies exist
  • Benefit quantification related to driving prioritization and describing the value story for the product road map.  Responsible for capital planning activities.
  • Represents Our United Culture missions and values in all activities, demonstrating exemplary customer service with internal and external team members

  • Works well in a matrix environment across cross – functional teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile processes, including development of user stories and gathering business requirements from client/business stakeholders
  • Ability to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data
  • Mastery of product lifecycle process and experience working with agile software delivery tools (CA Agile, AHA, etc.)
  • Experience leading and coordinating efforts across matrixed organizations
  • Experience developing and communicating a Product Strategy
  • Experience in development and communicating Roadmaps of activities to achieve the Product Strategy. Experience prioritizing work efforts across matrixed teams to manage the most effective delivery of deliverables on the Roadmap

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare Experience
  • Ability to achieve goals in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to all levels of project governance
  • Certification in Product Management or Agile scrum
  • Lean / Six Sigma trained or equivalent work experience

Colorado Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700 base.
