ShareCorps-MidOhio Food Collective-Hunger&Health Associate At Mid-Ohio Foodbank, we find it unacceptable for thousands of our neighbors-most of them children and seniors-to go hungry.
We aim to provide efficient, effective ways for hungry people to meet their basic food and nutrition needs.
2019 marked the 39th anniversary of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
Although we distributed just 205,200 pounds of food in our first year, our organization now handles more than 66 million pounds annually.
Through our 680 agency partnerships, we provide more than 140,000 meals every day to hungry people across central and eastern Ohio.
Member Duties : As the AmeriCorps VISTA Member at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, you will work to improve program delivery for Hunger and Health/Food as Medicine initiatives and collect impactful client and healthcare provider stories.
Working with the Farmacy team and healthcare providers, you will collect and analyze key program data, measuring the effectiveness of health clinics and emergency feeding systems.
Utilizing focus groups, you will build an understanding of food insecurity and related issues surrounding the social determinants of health, making recommendations for program refinement.
Finally, working with the Farmacy Team and Communications, you will make contact with both patients and healthcare providers to build up a substantial storybank of customer and provider testimonials demonstrating program impact.
