– Medical Officer.

SVP
– Medical officer is the lead clinician in charge of all aspects of clinical care at the Medical Campus.

From a solutions-oriented approach, the SVP
– Medical Officer monitors clinical performance to ensure services and operations are in compliance with all company policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

The Medical Officer is responsible for implementing, reviewing, and developing Clinical protocols, performance objectives, productivity benchmarks, compliance measures, provider workflow planning and provider scheduling.nn nn n nn nn ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.nn Provides medical expertise with respect to planning and establishing goals, objectives, and policies to improve clinical services that are consistent with the companies Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles.

Provides direction to Provider Staff in clinical performance, operational goals and objectives, clinical assignments as necessary to promote efficient, quality focused services.

Works with Chief Medical Officer to oversee and maintain performance criteria established by federal and state regulatory agencies.

Monitors Providers against set standards, including, but not limited to, Accreditation, GPRA (Government Performance Results Act), Reports productivity and/or quality of care variances to company leadership.

Responsible for the credentialing and privileging of all clinical staff.

Chairs Medical Executive Committee; and Provider Staff meetings.

As needed, reviews and takes action on leave requests (vacation, sick, and educational leave) for physicians and Advanced Practice Professionals under his/her supervision, and assures integration of leave into the Medical Staff schedules.

Responds appropriately to client or staff complaints regarding performance of Provider Staff.

Provides coaching and leadership to Provider Staff members to assure compliance, employee and client satisfaction.

Creates and maintains a work environment with high morale and productivity.

Responsible for ensuring that quality and appropriateness of care are monitored and that appropriate actions based on monitoring results are taken.

Assesses all matters of clinical compliance and provides timely recommendations for corrective action(s).

Assists the Regional Operations Directors in the implementation and management of the organizational policies and procedures including accreditation standards, Compliance Program and Risk Management.

Represents the agency to physician organizations, medical societies, hospitals and other healthcare organizations at regional and state level.

Works in conjunction with the Regional Operations Director regarding student affiliation agreement and student rotations; responsible for overall performance of clinical students in the health center.

Approves and monitors specialty clinical services offered as direct services.

Regularly reports on clinical activities at the Board of Director’s and other governance committee meetings as needed.

Provide direct clinical medical services in the area of board certified medical specialty in accordance with the highest applicable standards of medical and professional practice and in full accordance with health center protocols and policies.

nn nn nn EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: nn Medical Degree, MD or DO; Board Certified from a United States accredited school.

Must meet the requirements for medical licensure.

Ten years progressive work experience in a supervisory capacity and clinical setting.

This position requires a knowledge of, and sensitivity to, cultural and language differences.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills in handling interactions with hospital staff, other agencies, groups, clients and families.

Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with health care providers within the facility as well as healthcare providers in hospitals and nursing homes, as well as private practitioners and law enforcement agencies throughout the community.

This position requires familiarity with national accreditation standards; experience with quality assurance, peer review activities, and medical staff credentialing and privileging standards.

nn n nn nn CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: nn Must possess a valid Physician’s license in the US.

Ideally California Shall possess or be able to obtain CPR certification within three months of hire.

Shall possess or be able to obtain ACLS certification within six months of hire.

Must maintain CPR and ACLS certification.

Shall possess a valid driver’s license.
