We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Field Clinical Specialist.This position can be based out of the Los Angeles, CA or Boston, MA area.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a Senior Field Clinical Specialist, you will represent Abbott and be responsible for leading procedures during the clinical trial stage for the Vascular Division.
In this position, you will provide the training and procedural guidance to physicians when supporting investigational vascular devices and gathering real world evidence and will have responsibility for developing research partnerships with clinical sites within your assigned territory.

Impact this role will have on Abbott:
- Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of disease diagnosis, device use, therapy, and troubleshooting techniques for vascular devices to deliver positive patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate proficiency in assigned investigative protocols, technologies, complex novel procedures, and disease states.
- Demonstrate consistent knowledge-sharing regionally and nationally.
- Illustrate and initiate strong collaboration with commercial teams.
- Establish and strengthen physician relationships to build strong research partnerships.
- Train physicians, support staff, and research personnel on investigational device use and clinical trial protocols.
- Coordinate communication with internal and external customers to facilitate efficient and compliant clinical utility and clinical trial execution.
- Support product development by contributing clinical knowledge to product design and performing device evaluations in the clinical trial, lab, or R&D setting.
- Establish and cultivate a network of support to facilitate completion of assignments.
- Participate in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel.
- Initiate and follow-through on tasks, collaborate across different functional groups and extend your role beyond the expressed Field Clinical Specialist requirements.
- Actively participate or pursue training courses and continuing education.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING:
Your required experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand Abbott’s marketplace success:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, biological sciences, a related field, equivalent or related certification in cardiology
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience, with in-depth knowledge of interventional cardiology and related vascular technologies or cardiac interventions
- Demonstrated ability to lead and/or facilitate educational programs to healthcare professionals
- Knowledge and working experience reading and interpreting OCT and physiology as well as angiography and other diagnostic technology used in the cath lab.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, interfacing with multiple constituencies including cardiologists, support staff and sales to effectively build relationships with external customers and internal team members
- Exercise appropriate judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Good presentation skills: ability to present technical and clinical material comfortably.
- Proficiency in computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office.
- The ability to travel extensively (approx 60-80%) and the flexibility to easily change hats between technical and clinical trial requirements
