The Sr Director of Clinical Applications, Nursing and Clinical Informatics, will work within Information Services of Keck Medicine and report directly to the Associate Administrator of Clinical Applications.
The incumbent will be highly organized, customer service oriented and a technically skilled leader.
The Sr Director’s primary responsibilities include:
Overseeing the Nursing Clinical Applications team and driving the team to achieve established organizational goals.
Representing the bridge between clinical practice and technology for transforming patient care delivery for the entire organization.
Developing a clinical informatics team and collaborating and leading an operational Super User team.
Working closely with operations to ensure the application deliverable meets patient and staff workflows.
Supervising the Nursing Clinical Application and Informatics team while working closely with leadership, consultants, and external vendors.
Establishing and delivering IS processes and standards to support the implementation of strategies set by leadership.
Working closely with other IS teams such the IS PMO, Business Applications and Infrastructure to adhere to organizational processes.
Selecting, hiring, conducting performance reviews, and developing team members.
Championing and overseeing strategic projects from contracting to go-live.
Serving as a point of escalation for project and support issues.
Using data to monitor adoption and outcomes and subsequently set the team’s priorities.
Traveling to all USC campuses when required.
Minimum Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor in related fieldMinimum Experience/Knowledge:
• Preferred but not required: 6-8 years of Healthcare IT experience and a nursing background with DNP completion.
• Experience with Cerner or similar Electronic Health Record deployment.
Must have management experience.Required License/Certification:
• LA City Fire and Safety Certification.
If no certification upon hire, must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
