RN Wound Care Manager to cover CA & OR
- MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions of the Position): Under the general direction of the VP of Operations and the Clinical Program Director for Wound Care, this position is responsible for planning, organization, management and oversight of the wound care health service activities at AccentCare.
1. Represents the wound care specialty in committees and task forces that relate to wound care activities and concerns.
- 2. Assists in the attainment of AccentCare goals, objectives, priorities, and policy.
- 3. Works in close collaboration with AccentCare partners, referral sources, etc. to assure alignment as needed.
- 4. Participates in AccentCare meetings, leading all discussions for Wound Care programs.
- a) Manages revenue and expenditure for wound and ostomy care.
- b) Provide recommendations for contracts for projects, programs, and services.
- c) Monitor field activities and provide reports to VP of Clinical Operations and Chief Innovation Clinical Officer.
- d) Work with local Regional / Executive Directors to implement wound care programs and strategies, train local clinicians and marketing personnel to include, but not limited to:
- Auditing charts for complex wound care patients monthly to monitor any discrepancies with care or documentation using wound care audit tool and provide results to branch to implement any necessary changes
- Being available by email, phone or virtual platform to provide recommendation in wound care treatment as requested to provide a wound consultation
- Connecting virtually (if possible) every 30 days on complex wound care patients with case manager and patient to review current treatment and make any recommendation for changes in wound POC
- Providing support to sales staff for those who are assigned to wound/ostomy referral sources if needed to better manage those referrals and build relationships with those sources
- Providing staff education as needed pertaining to wound care treatments, ICC documentation, or ostomy care.
- 5. Ability to conduct meeting with physicians and other prospective clients and build solid working relationships with various stakeholders, when required.
- 6. Ability to prepare presentations and present information.
- 7. Manages and lead all wound care projects to meet the goals and objectives established by, and in accordance with, company policies, contracts and applicable laws and regulations
- 8. Consults with organizations or individuals who may have programmatic or business interest with AccentCare.
- 9. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
- 10. Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including, but not limited to the Compliance Program: Code of Conduct, HIPAA and Documentation Standards.
- 11. Maintains a commitment to the values and mission of Accent Care.
- 12. Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
? Bachelor Degree in Nursing or Associate Degree/Diploma in Professional Nursing • National Certification in wound care (such as WOCN, or WCC)
? Minimum two years full-time experience or equivalent in practice as a RN. Four years of experience is preferred.
? Experience in a leadership and management roles is required
? Valid Drives License Required
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of principles and applications of wound care consultation and recommendation
• Business and supervisory concepts and methods including TQM; and policies; regulations, and requirements of home health and regulators/accreditation bodies.
• Skill in effectively participating in assessment /treatment of patients; appropriate budgeting, staffing, scheduling and planning; and in quality audits.
• Ability to communicate clearly, establish and maintain effective relationships with team members and peers to problem-solve in cooperative manner; effectively educate employees and other nursing staff in theory and applications
• Ability to operate a cost effective department by controlling costs appropriately.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/DEMANDS OF THE POSITION: (Travel, Physical Demand, Dexterity, Mental Demand, Working Conditions)
• Travel: Position requires minimal business travel and a valid Driver’s License.
• Physical Demand: Light physical effort. For example, standing, bending, or stooping for extended periods, operating light office equipment, e.g., personal computer, copier, fax machine, etc., manually handling medium weight materials and/or equipment (0 to 20 pounds).
• Dexterity: Light dexterity, e.g. using data processing equipment, long periods of standing/sitting, etc.
• Mental Demand: Moderate to high degree of concentration due to volume, complexity, and/or “pressure” of work.
• Working Conditions: Clean working conditions with no disagreeable factors.
