Santa Monica Convalescent Center is looking for a dynamic Restorative Nursing Assistantto join our clinical team and provide our residents with an exceptional care experience. As anRNA/Restorative Nursing Assistantyou will provide restorative nursing services that will assist the resident to restore, improve or maintain bodily functions to the highest degree practicable in accordance with the resident’s assessment, care plan and as directed by supervisors. You will ensure residents needs are maintained with highest degree of dignity, respect, compassion and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for carrying out individual restorative programs designed by the Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist.
- Following Infection and Control policies
- Timely reporting of change in residents condition to the Nurse Supervisor
- Assisting therapy department with resident mobility
- Providing active and passive range of motion exercises and providing proper body positioning in bed.
- Thorough proficiency in use of Adaptive Equipment (ie, walkers, canes, slide boards, communication boards, adaptive eating utensils, use of trapeze, reachers, lift equipment, etc.).
- Self-feeding and restorative feeding program
- Document on residents individual RNA programs on a daily basis what was done and how resident responded
- Handroll and splint application
- Participate in the development and implementation of resident assessments (MDS) and care plans, including quarterly reviews, as they relate to restorative care.
- Encourage residents to perform range of motion exercises
- Prepare resident for treatment by dress/position and administer restorative care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned, including CNA back-up coverage (answering call lights, making residents comfortable, assisting in feeding residents, helping residents with grooming, etc.)
Experience:
- Certified Nursing Assistant experience (Required)
- Restorative Nursing Assistant Certificate (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CNA Certification (Required)
- CPR Certification (Required)
- Competency in Point Click Care (POC) software is highly preferred
