The University of Southern California (USC) School of Pharmacy invites applications for a fulltime, 12-month, Research track faculty position at the Research Assistant Professor level to conduct research in the Department of Pharmacology & Pharmaceutical Sciences (www.usc.edu/schools/pharmacy/departments).
Description and Qualifications:
USC is an outstanding research university and the School of Pharmacy maintains a vital role in that productivity. The candidate is expected to conduct cutting edge research within an established high level laboratory setting. Of particular interest are candidates with research interests in stem cell research toward investigation of underlying mechanisms and treatment of male reproductive system diseases. Candidates must have a doctoral degree and postdoctoral experience in pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related research discipline. The successful candidate is expected to develop an externally funded research program, with needed collaboration cultivated.
Mentoring personnel and graduate students within the laboratory setting is expected within the course of research, otherwise little formal teaching is part of the candidate’s responsibilities. Routine faculty administration and participation duties, such as attendance at departmental and full faculty meetings and committee service, as well as annual review submissions and peer-to-peer teaching evaluations are expected. This position does not lead to consideration for tenure. Qualified candidates will preferably have demonstrated experience or leadership in diversity and inclusion within their prior academic and professional work environments that they can bring to the education setting.
