Registered Nurse (RN) NICCU

The *Registered Nurse (RN) in the NICCU* under general supervision, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. As a NICCU RN you will collaborate with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

*Minimum Qualifications for Registered Nurse (RN) – NICCU*

* 2+ years’ experience as an Level III NICCU RN; NICCU experience Level IV preferred.
* Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures.
* Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.

*Education/Licensure/Certification for Registered Nurse (RN) – NICCU*

* BSN required.
* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.
* Current American Heart Association CPR, American Heart Association PALS and NRP certifications.

Neonatal Intensive Critical Care Unit (NICCU): a level IV neonatal intensive care unit, that features 58 beds and serves as an international referral center with the majority of patients from the western United States. We provide a complete range of medical and surgical services for neonates with the most complex conditions. The unit’s specialized programs include the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program, a Whole-Body Therapeutic Hypothermia Program, complex surgical specialties, highly specialized ventilatory support & home ventilation program, neonatal and infant diagnostic and follow-up services.
