We are looking to hire a Dental Hygienist to join our team!
An environmentally friendly Downtown Los Angeles dental office is seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and hard-working dental hygienist for a part-time position.
Work experience is a plus, but recent graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Schedule
– Tuesdays 7:00AM
– 4:00PM (flexible)
Applicants should be proficient in all of the following duties:
* Patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure and pulse
* Taking dental radiographs (x-rays)
* Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth
* Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
* Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
* Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health
* Making impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts
* Performing documentation and office management activities
* Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus
Dental Hygienist Requirements and Qualifications
* Associate’s degree from an accredited hygiene program.
* State hygiene license.
* Current CPR certificate.
* Ability to administer local anesthetic agents.
* Able to use an x-ray machine.
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Comfortable using computers for a variety of tasks.
* Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about oral hygiene and dental health.
