Approved pay range: $15.75-18.00

Serving the needs of the Medicaid population requires a well-oiled machine. OUTCOMES OF THE ROLE
The Dental Assistant s mission is to support the dentist and hygienists in providing excellent, high-quality care to patients at a pediatric dental practice according to state requirements.

Integrity & Accountability: Systematically executes proactive, recurring processes to achieve goals provided by their clinical leadership team. Demonstrates high integrity in all activities; does not cut corners to achieve goals. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and develops alternative solutions. Understand, monitor, and ensure the smooth execution of dental processes, including but not limited to assisting the dentist or hygienist in the completion of dental cleanings, charting, and x-rays. Understand, monitor, and ensure effective execution of all policies and procedures by:

  • Completing administrative tasks correctly and on time
  • Supporting organizations goals and values
  • Adhering to state and federal guidelines

Mission Driven & Patient-First: Passionate about delivering accurate, high-service. Demonstrate expectations for desired patient experience and respond promptly to customers needs by:

  • Create a friendly relationship with patients and parents as well as educating them on personal oral care
  • Providing excellent chair-side assistance to doctor and/ or dental hygienist
  • Accurately collecting and recording patient medical and dental histories as well as procedure documentation
  • Organizing and sterilizing dental instruments and workstations per OSHA standards
  • Performing safe x-ray techniques and capturing efficient and quality dental x-rays alongside the dentist
    o Pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts and fabricating custom impression trays from the preliminary impression

  • Preferred knowledge of Dentrix and Microsoft office

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
– High school diploma or GED.
– Previous work experience in a dental practice as a dental assistant is a plus
– Valid California Dental Practice Act certificate
– Completed a California Board-approved radiation safety course and have passed the radiation exam
– Completed a California Board-approved course in infection control
– Current BLS CPR certification preferred.
– Spanish bilingual

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally 50.
