Reel Security and Reel Health anticipate growth into Europe in the near future.The PositionThe Human Resources Director (HRD) for Reel Security and Reel Health has responsibility for all human resources operations nationwide and in Canada.
This is a full-time position and is responsible for both the transactional and strategic roles of human resources for both Reel Security California, Inc.
and Reel Health, Inc.
This position will report to the CEO and COO and will direct all of the people functions of the organization including leading the strategy, development and execution of strategic human resources programs and initiatives in support of organizational objectives.
The HRD provides overall guidance to organization systems and practices related to workforce planning and analytics, talent acquisition, talent development, compensation and benefits, individual performance management processes and engages in practices and initiatives that support, build and foster a culture that reinforces the organization’s vision and core values.
This position maintains a pulse on the “people” environment of the organization along with issues and challenges facing the organization with the goal of building a positive, motivated and engaged staff and a strong organizational culture.The HRD will manage a human resources team nationwide and in Canada consisting of managers, training manager, assistants and recruiters.ResponsibilitiesProvide support to managers and employees with general human resources, benefits, and employment questions.Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource legal requirements.Manages employee relations resolving questions and concerns, conducting investigations and making recommendations for effective resolution.Manage recruiting process including oversight of ads, phone interviews, interview schedules, following-up with candidates and assisting managers.Oversee the new employee “on boarding” process including conducting new hire orientation, review, verify and process all new hire paperwork and coordinate benefit enrollment information.Develop performance management and improvement systems for all positions and train supervisors on implementation.Manage leaves of absence including PDL, FMLA/CFRA, PFL, FFCRA and ensures timely notification and compliance with policies and laws.Manage open enrollment process including evaluating current health plans, working with broker to obtain new plan bids, coordinate open enrollment meetings, and oversight of open-enrollment meetings and paperwork administration.Coordinate workers’ compensation process and maintaining documentation and follow-up with insurance carrier.Coordinate and schedules ongoing management training for legal compliance and development and oversight of the Learning Management System.SkillsCurrent working knowledge of employment laws for 1000+ employees and the ability to interpret those laws.
California knowledge is required, expertise in New York and Canada preferred.Good communication and small-group presentation skills.Successful supervisory skills of a human resources team.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and employees.Experience coaching, supporting and guiding leaders within the company on a variety of employee relations issues.Able to communicate difficult information in a way that preserves dignity and respect for individuals.High level of interpersonal skills, integrity and the ability to keep information confidential.Able to assess future opportunities and challenges.High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research.Familiarity with Google GSuite (Docs) and Mac Computers/iOS.Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.Education/Experience5 years of related experience in a similar role in an organization of 1000+ employees.A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience is required.A certificate in human resources from an accredited institution preferred.BenefitsThis is a full-time position and is eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, 401k, paid time off and paid holidays.Our office is located in the Sherman Oaks Galleria.
