Recreational Therapist

ConcertoPACE is seeking an energic and fun Recreational Therapist (RT) who will develop recreational care plans, monitor the recreational treatment for the participants, and report any changes to the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).(br((br(The RT:(br((br(* Completes initial assessments, formulates the initial care plan and supporting 6 month and annual assessments and daily documentation.

Serves as an active member of the IDT to provide feedback based on the day-to-day interaction with the participants.

Provides meaningful and engaging activities for participants at the center and home.(br(* Delivers culturally appropriate activities based on the diversity of participants.(br(* Drives the recreation therapy wellness calendar based upon those interests/needs as identified in the initial care plans, assessments, and participant feedback.(br(* Provides recreation therapy co-treatments and strategies such as leisure education and leisure counseling to other program departments.(br(* Provides training and programmatic feedback to Recreation Therapy aides.(br(* Leads and/or assists participants in large group, small groups, and individual settings (exercise, arts and crafts, games, current events, sensory, etc.).(br(* Develops and organizes special events at the center and offsite activities to engage the participants(br(* Assists with preparing and cleaning up after activities.(br(* Assists in the ordering of supplies for department as requested and maintains equipment in good condition.(br(* Support outreach and enrollment activities by providing informational seminars on area of expertise to prospective participants(br(* Act as a representative of ConcertoPACE in the broader community and/or clinical network.(br((br(Requirements(br((br(* Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with a frail or elderly population.(br(* Bachelor’s degree of recreational therapy or related field(br(* Certified with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).(br(* Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred.(br(* Skill in communicating with participants, their families, and other staff members; ability to establish a helping, trusting relationship with participants.(br(* Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs of older adults as evidenced by a caring approach, patience in providing care, and responsiveness to participant requests.(br(* Ability to utilize appropriate safety measures when providing care.(br(* Ability to relate to the public and governmental agencies in a pleasant, patient, and professional manner.(br(* Well organized, dependable, flexible, and resourceful.(br(* Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.(br(* Certified nurse assistant in the state of California preferred.(br((br(Job Type: Full-time(br((br(Experience:(br(* frail or elderly population: 2 years (Required)(br((br(License/Certification:(br(* NCTRC (Required)(br((br(Work Location: One location
