Description:Providence is calling a Monitor Technician (Full-Time/Day Shift) to our Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.We are seeking a Monitor Technician who will monitor electrocardiography according to established standards and practices.
Attend nursing station and perform clerical and reception duties.
Requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed.In this position you will:Implement and maintain established department, unit, and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives as well as improving organization performance program, safety, environmental, and infection control policiesPrioritize work and provides prompt and efficient serviceObserve cardiac monitors and documents rhythm strips in accordance with critical care standardsPromptly and accurately report rhythm variances to the charge nurse and/or nurse responsible for the patient’s careRun strips and identifies rhythms at least every shiftMaintain monitoring equipment, printers and supplies; reports equipment malfunction to Biomedical Engineering and charge nurseRequisition supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services, and prepares related forms.
Keeps stock and equipment inventoriesPerform clerical duties related to procedures such as admission, discharge, transfer, and deathKeep patient records currentPhotocopy information, files information, and answers the telephone, takes messages, and directs callsMaintain a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families accordance with hospital standardsAssist with care and maintenance of department equipment and suppliesMaintain department records, reports, and files as requiredParticipate in educational programs and in-service meetingsAttend meetings as requiredQualifications:Required qualifications for this position includes:Completion of basic dysrhythmia courseMOAB I/II required within 30 to 150 days of hire for employees in Emergency Department and PARCAnswer telephonesCoordinate meetingsMaintain filing systemsMaintain logsMaintain patient chartsSchedule appointmentsPreferred qualifications for this position include:Completion of course for ward secretaries and medical terminology.Post High School Vocational/Specialized TrainingAbout the hospital you will serve.Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA, is a 392-bed acute care facility founded over 75 years ago by the Sisters of Providence.
