Serves as a role model for Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants and LVNs by providing leadership which fosters positive attitudes and change, as well as supports management policies and procedures.In this position you will:Perform job functions timely and efficiently utilizing knowledge of advanced nursing principlesDeliver upon the service expectations of both our patients and fellow staff members by listening to their needs; engaging in positive interactions; and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their total outcome is better than expectedRespect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patientsWork in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standardsReport any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotlinePerform patient care skills vitals, BP, history taking, IM/Sub Q injections, EKG, treadmill, catheterization, PTSs, Accu check, sterile technique procedure set-ups, assists with minor surgeries, pulse oxycemetry, phlebotomy, autoclaving, controlled substance counts and PFTs (Pulmonary Function Test)Mix and administer IV medications, as written by physician and within the scope of practicePerform advanced clinical procedures: porta-caths, bladder catheterizations and chemotherapy administrationAdminister routine immunizations, therapeutic injections and skin testsPerform blood pressure checksInform practitioner of unusual changesAssist with emergencies and minor surgeriesProvide accurate, complete, legible and timely documentation of all nursing procedures in the medical recordDemonstrate effective nursing judgment and a thorough knowledge of nursing procedures and practicesCommunicate clinically significant information to the physician, including but not limited to, abnormal test results, patient concerns and changes in the patient’s conditionSupport the waived and moderately complex clinical lab testing needs of the Urgent Care that includes performing testing considered moderately complex on patient samples and the associated quality control materials in accordance with the laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)Provide onsite oversight for control and instrument.

This will include, but not be limited to:Completion of an 8-hour preceptor classOrient and train new personnel or assist in re-orienting / re-training existing personnelReview appropriate checklist and monitor completion of specific areasHelp the orientee seek learning opportunities with a review of pertinent Policy and Procedure, observation skills, and checklist completionProvide feedback to supervisor on areas completed and areas needing additional trainingDemonstrate awareness of current state, federal and local laws governing the delivery of careUse appropriate reporting mechanisms as required by state lawsObtain appropriate authorizations and consents for treatmentProvide open and timely communication with patients and their familiesProvide sufficient information to allow patients and their families to participate in the patient’s careProvide educational resources to the patient/family as appropriateDemonstrate commitment to education and sharing of knowledge:Assist in the orientation of new personnel to the officeObtain ongoing education consistent with level and area of practiceMaintain current ACLS and American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers and other appropriate licensure/certificationsParticipate in Quality Improvement audits annuallyQualifications:Required qualifications for this position includes:Graduate of a recognized Registered Nursing programCurrent California RN licenseCurrent Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Providers from the American Heart AssociationOne (1) year Patient assessment experience in the acute care setting, emergency medicine, or urgent care environmentKnowledge of UR/QA requirements, surgery scheduling knowledge and patient education skillsExcellent communication and documentation skills essential.Ability to multi-task and deliver patient care in a fast-paced environmentPreferred qualifications for this position includeExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)About the hospital you will serve.Facey Medical Group is a multi-specialty medical group with over 160 physicians providing care to the growing population in the North & East regions of Los Angeles & Ventura Counties.
