Applicants that meet qualifications will receive a text with some additional questions from our Modern Hire systemWe are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Staff Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing direct patient care in the clinic(s) as well as facilitating patient care flow.

Work in close collaboration with Director and Practice Manager to ensure competency of clinical and non-clinical caregivers.

Mentors and develops clinical caregivers.

Ensure all assigned duties are performed in a manner that promotes team concept to reflect the Providence Health & Services mission and philosophy.

The RN Clinic Supervisor will assist with maintaining compliance to professional nursing standards as well as regulatory requirements, and will support providers and caregivers in delivering quality health care to patients taking into account the patients’ individual physical and/or age-related needs.In this position you will:Oversee all aspects of daily clinical operations in the clinic.Act as a clinical resource to the patient care delivery caregivers.Assist with orientation of new caregivers.Delegate tasks and assign duties to other back office caregivers as position and scope of practice permits.Responsible for duties associated with Kronos timekeeping system and bi-weekly payroll.Develop and implement the daily work schedule, maintains a master calendar of caregiver schedules, adjusting the staffing to meet the patient load.Coordinate back office back-up staffing as needed.Demonstrate competency with all position related software programs.Actively participate in continuing education and meetings.Participate in all components of staff hiring (interview, selection, hiring, on-boarding, orientation, training/competency, supervision, performance evaluations) for Registered Nurses, LVN’s, and Medical Assistants.Coach caregivers on performance.

Initiate disciplinary processes as required by policy, documenting and working with Director and Practice Manager to deliver corrective action when necessary.Conduct departmental staff meetings on a monthly basis or more frequently if needed and maintains minutes of all meetings.Demonstrate the Providence Core Values including patient-centered care and service; respect, caring and compassion; teamwork and partnership; continuous learning andimprovement; and leadership at all times.Promote the Mission of Providence externally in a positive way.

Function as an ambassador for Providence when interfacing with anyone outside the organization.Develop and maintain effective and professional relationships with all patients, staff, and providers.Identify and address patient concerns and complaints in an appropriate, timely manner and in accordance with PMI guidelines.Consistent use of Own It system for excellent service.Review and respond to patient satisfaction data.

Recommends and implement process improvement to address areas of deficiency.Ensure an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.Current CA State RN license.Current BLS-HCP-Basic Life Support –for Healthcare Providers – American Heart Association (AHA).3 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.Experience developing key relationships within an integrated delivery system such as hospital, health plan and support departments.Requires strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.Must have the ability to successfully work with Medical Assistants, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Providers in designing, implementing and monitoring key operational initiatives.Knowledge of health care environment, medical office policies and procedures, general accounting procedures and human resource management practices.Ability to establish priorities, organize, and coordinate work activities.Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to exercise good judgment independently.Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks under pressure.Ability to build trust and accountability with each team member regardless of their area of expertise.Flexibility, confidence, initiative and creativity.Ability to work in a high volume environment while maintaining high quality standards.Ability to self-manage, set priorities and operate with minimal direct supervision.Capable of managing highly confidential information.Ability to carry out defined procedures and duties under specific instruction.Ability to identify and solve problems, make decisions, and implement changes.Ability to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities.Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with clinic physician leadership and staff physicians tocarry out clinic mission, goals and objectives.Demonstrates ability and desire to educate patients and families.Demonstrates management and leadership skills, particularly mentoring, coaching and conflict management.Personal style which emphasizes openness, visibility and approachability.Excellent listening and follow-through abilities and a willingness to accept constructive criticism.

Assumes responsibility for own professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings and workshops.Ability to travel between facilities in an efficient manner.Preferred qualifications for this position include:Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)ACLS certification preferred (required for cardiology clinics or within 6 months of hire).2 years experience in a progressive leadership role in an ambulatory clinic setting or acute care setting.ER or Urgent Care experience.Experience with Electronic Medical Records, Windows, and Excel-based software.About the location you will serve.Providence Health & Services Southern California is further developing its physician integration strategy.
