Develop and implement quality improvement programs.

Ensure efficient allocation and use of resources.In this position you will:Act as a resource to the patient care delivery staff:Deliver upon the service expectations of both our patients and fellow staff members by listening to their needs; engaging in positive interactions; and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their total outcome is better than expectedRespect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patientsWork in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards.

Reports any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotlineEnsure that areas of responsibility are operating in accordance with Quality Assurance/Quality Management and accreditation standardsAssist in the development of the budget for the department and allocates funds within budget to accomplish objectives.

Monitors/reports variances against budgetCoordinate staffing in assigned work areas; maintains a master calendar of staff scheduling; assesses the need to utilize float staff service adjusting the staffing to meet the needs of the physicians and patient loadEnhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings and workshopsEnsure the adherence to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standardsDevelop, recommend and coordinate the implementation of new proceduresAttend meetings as required and participates on committees as directedDevelop, manage and maintain a progressive extern program that draws students from location Medical Assistant, Licensed Vocational and Registered Nurse programsEvaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions utilizing observation and review of documentation to determine patient treatment outcomes and need for staff training/educationDevelop, implementation and administers inservice education for staffInvestigate complaints of patients, staff and medical staff and takes appropriate action; follows up to ensure that complaints have been satisfactorily handledMonitor and ensure accuracy of recording on patient medical records.

Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etcEnsure an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipmentCooperate with other personnel to achieve department/team objectives, maintains good employee relations and interdepartmental teamwork objectives and good customer service programsPlan, conduct and supervise small, short term projectsImplement and maintain an ongoing employee recognition programs for staff; assesses the effectiveness of communication programs and redesigns accordinglyApprove/deny approved time off for staff.

Monitors time cards for assigned employees, evaluates and corrects deficiencies in time card accuracy and submissionAuthorize any overtimeMaintain current LVN license, American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers and other appropriate licensure/certificationsDemonstrates effective management skills:Manage the department within the established budgetHire and retain qualified staff; ensures new employees are oriented to their department and well trained for their jobsOrganize the department workload and establishes work standards to promote efficiency and productivityConduct departmental staff meetings on a monthly basis or more frequently if needed and maintains minutes of all meetingsMotivate and manage staff to ensure that performance standards are met or exceededGive timely and constructive feedback on performance; documents all corrective counselingPrepare and conducts fair and objective performance appraisals within one month of the employee’s anniversary date of LVN and MA staffEnsure that adequate in-service education is available to staff membersKeep staff apprised of changes in organization and departmental policiesMaintain a high degree of professionalism.Demonstrate the ability to make decisions, take appropriate action and follow tasks through to completionRecognize the implications of new situations and develops workable solutionsDemonstrate a willingness to accept new responsibilitiesRespond cooperatively to managers and staff members in other departments to promote teamworkAct as a role model in demonstrating the customer service standards of the organizationDemonstrate a commitment to personal growth and development by participating in external activities related to professional goalsAttend departmental meetings as appropriate and contributes ideas for improving efficiency, productivity and patient satisfactionQualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Graduate of an accredited LVN school of nursingCurrent California LVN licenseAmerican Heart Association BLS for Health Care ProviderIV certification2 years current medical office experience with references2 years Nursing staff supervisory experience in a patient care delivery settingVerified skill sets defined by department usageUR/QA knowledge, surgery scheduling knowledge, patient education skills along with knowledge in the development of protocolsAbout the ministry you will serve:Facey Medical Group is a multi-specialty medical group with over 160 physicians providing care to the growing population in the North & East regions of Los Angeles & Ventura Counties.
