We look forward to hearing from you.Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Inventory Control Coordinator in our location in Tarzana, CA.We are seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator to be accountable for managing assigned inventories for the assigned ministry or ministries through daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycle counts, annual physical counts, requisitioning replenishments, seeking alternative sources and materials when necessary, maintaining communication with supported customers, monitoring supplies usage, and removing and disposing of obsolete or outdated products. The IC Coordinator organizes and leads Material Distribution/Supply Chain staff in conducting periodic inventory counts, adjusts quantities and locations, when necessary, and records and reports discrepancies to management. The IC Coordinator is accountable for the implementation of the One SCM Operations and Logistics strategy at the local ministry under the direction of the Ministry/Site Supply Chain Manager or Regional Inventory Control Manager.This position also is responsible for working with key operational stakeholders within their specific ministry as well as their supply chain peers within their specific Supply Chain Region to include participating in and partnering with others on OSCM Operations and Logistics operational improvement efforts and programs ensuring a compliant, effective, and streamlined operational OSCM experience at the local ministry/site for all caregivers they serve.Under the direction of the Regional Inventory Control Manager, Manager or the Supervisor, Supply Chain Operations, the position is responsible for the management of all perpetual and par inventories as well as specific periodic inventories, supplies received, stored, and issued at Providence ministries within their respective ministry or site as directed. In many instances, the position will serve in clinical areas (OR, Cath Lab, etc.), ensuring inventory control policies and procedures are properly implemented while working closely with clinical staff to provide excellent patient care.In this position you will have the following responsibilities:Provide day-to-day accountability for supply inventories, monitoring volumes, flow, and sourcing. Ensures the facilities have adequate inventory available for distribution by the Material Distribution/Supply Chain Technicians to their assigned units. The IC Coordinator will provide oversight for inventory related projects and assignments. The IC Coordinator may lead work on behalf of the supervisor or as directed by management.Apply correct cycle count and other standard operations procedures.Analyze product usage and adjust inventory levels as appropriate to optimize inventory levels at the Ministry/site.Anticipate supply needs and communicate potential interruptions to Manager/Supervisor and customers.Monitor all additions, deletions, and change to main stores and to unit PAR locations and works closely with departments prior to and during product conversions. Direct Materials Distribution/Supply Chain Services staff to facilitate product changes in patient care areas.Maintain current Materials Management Information System (Lawson) supplies database in conjunction with System Supply Chain Management database management teams.Function as Information Services Liaison for training users in current electronic requisition system.Maintain and monitor distribution statistics. Create and submit monthly reports and others, as requested.Independently makes decisions and takes action regarding supply shortages, keeping management informed, and/or makes recommendations based upon analysis of information.Performs causative research and reconciliation prior to preparing reports.Assists in all patient supply product evaluations.Assists in development of departmental policies and procedures, in coordination with Supervisors and Managers.Leads Ministry product recalls and product returns.Represents the Ministry on all Region and local Ministry Product Committees and other committees, as directed.Responsible for creating and editing department templates, working closely with clinical leaders, ensuring all supply needs are satisfied.Responsible for the maintenance and operation of automated point-of-use (POU) systems (Pyxis, Optiflex, etc.).Assists leadership in managing various inventory control projects.Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Minimum of three(3) years of Supply Chain Management or Finance experience.Key experience highlights include: healthcare business operations and/or financial management experience in a healthcare setting; experience standardizing disparate processes; experience in process improvement methodology, change management, project management, operational improvement; experience managing automated POU systems.Preferred qualifications for this position include:Associate’s Degree or higher in Healthcare, Business, Finance or Logistics/Supply Chain Management or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Medical Terminology training in anatomy & physiology.A Certified Materials and Resource Professional (CMRP) from the American Hospital Association or a Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) from the Society of Logistics Engineers or similar certification.1 year experience in a healthcare setting.About the department you will serve.Supply Chain Management supports the transformation of quality and affordable care by delivering excellence through a system wide, integrated supply chain that provides strategic leadership and services to customers and caregivers.
