Your Role
The Care Management team which manages care management for all lines of business. The Program Manager Clinical Consultant- Substance Recovery will report to the Senior Principal, Clinical Program Manager, Care Management. In this role you will help provide strategic direction for clinical programs related to chronic pain management and substance use disorders. You will also be assisting other care management staff to help determine substance use disorder recovery needs of members and best resources to support the member. You may also be assisting members directly providing substance use assessment, care planning, recommendations and care coordination.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Provide overall program leadership, guidance, and manage all aspects of a given program, including requirements gathering, business case creation, and implementation
- Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines common to a rapidly growing company with an evolving business model
- Review program budget variance and scope change requests, and participate in the budget-resolution process
- Lead cross-functional meetings and foster teamwork; drive escalation and resolution of issues, while promoting collaboration and coordination across broad categories of stakeholders
- Support and coach project managers within the program, while providing technical expertise in planning, execution, and leadership of program, projects, and initiatives
- Provide consultation to case management staff to assess if member has chronic pain needs and/or substance use disorder recovery needs
- Develop staff training materials for new, revised, or existing clinical programs
- Train clinical and non-clinical staff on relevant clinical programs
- Work with members to assess substance use/abuse needs and recommend resources
- Assist and recommend in network substance use/abuse resources and providers
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires RN, LMFT, LPCC, PSYD licensure or similar by the Board of Registered Nursing or Board of Behavioral Sciences
- Requires direct patient substance use recovery experience
- Requires experience collaborating with provider groups, community resources, and agencies
- Requires strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Requires at least 2 years prior relevant experience working with a Managed Care Plan
