We are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant who will implement specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Demonstrate proficiency in delivering care to assigned age-specific patient population (e.g., infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics), and participate in related continuing education. Function as an interdisciplinary team member. Provide assistance to co-workers, patients, and visitors as needed. In this position you will:Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives as well as participation in improving organization performance program, safety, environmental, and infection control programs and adherence to policies regarding such mattersFunction as a team member, contributing to the operations of the department on a day-to-day basis, and for the patient’s/customer’s overall general welfare and satisfactionFloat to areas within scope of practice as necessary. These include Acute/Inpatient, Acute Rehabilitation, Subacute Unit and OutpatientDemonstrate time management skills by achieving a productivity standard on average of 24 units of service in an 8-hour patient care shift or 3-3.5 units per hour. Prioritizes commitments and manages multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule when encountering unplanned events (e.g., cancellations, tests, etc.)Utilize appropriate resources when indicated to resolve conflicts, solve problems and achieve goalsMaintain knowledge of the provision of individualized age specific care. Interacts with adult, geriatric, adolescent, and pediatric patients taking into consideration the needs of each specific age groupCarry out the treatment plan established by the primary Physical Therapist and demonstrates competency in procedures in physical therapy as delineated by the California State Practice Guidelines including; mobility training, therapeutic exercise massage/soft tissue mobilization, physical agents, topical medications, prosthetic and orthotic training, and wound care. Recognizes indications/contraindications and normal/abnormal responses to treatment and informs the primary Physical Therapist who will alter the treatment program as indicatedComplete all required documentation as required by departmental policies and procedures. Documentation is complete, thorough, legible, timely, and accurately reflect the treatment provided and the associated chargesProvide training in Physical Therapy treatment methods and techniques, and ensures optimal carry-over of treatment program with staff and familyParticipate in educational programs and in-service meetingsParticipate in patient care, departmental, and medical center meetingsEnhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, professional affiliations, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshopsRegular full-time/part-time staff with one or more years of experience is responsible for participating in the Rehabilitation Services student program Required qualifications for this position include:Sufficient for license/registrationCPR – Adult, Child, Infant (Provider), including Obstructed Airway Management, sponsored by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross required within 30 days of hireLicensed/registered by the Physical Therapy Board of California/Department of Consumer AffairsKnowledge of clinical interventions/equipment necessary to meet needs of patient servicedGood clinical skillsGood communication skills Preferred qualifications for this position include:1 year Working as a Physical Therapy AssistantWork experience in Physical Disabilities SettingExperience in working with adolescents, adults, and geriatrics About the hospital you will serve.
