Physical Security Coordinator

SUMMARY

The Physical Security Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the installation, maintenance, repair, upgrading, storage, inventory and acquisition of company alarms and related equipment including burglary and; fire alarm equipment, surveillance cameras, lighting and digital video recorders.

Ensures compliance with established Company policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Coordinates new installations, upgrades, configuration and monitoring of security tools and equipment to mitigate vulnerabilities to ensure the ongoing production of alerts and reports interacting with service providers to ensure service levels are maintained.

2. Assists with the implementation of approved policies and procedures and ensures compliance with established policies and procedures and makes suggestions for changes and improvements.

3. Acts as primary contact and vendor relationship manager with company security equipment and service providers.

4. Troubleshoots equipment failures, and assists with service to equipment.

5. Maintains security equipment lists and inventory.

6. Maintains contracts on security vendors/maintenance/equipment

7. Maintains updates on permits for the alarm systems.

8. Participates in the configuration and monitoring of information and/or physical security tools, as well as the underlying output (e.g. DVRs, cameras, alarms, door access panels, track packs, etc.)

9. Participates in the annual review and development of security policies, procedures, and associated training and awareness activities.

10. Participate in new installations, upgrades, configuration and monitoring of security tools and equipment to mitigate vulnerabilities to ensure the ongoing production of alerts and reports interacting with service providers to ensure service levels are maintained.

11. Respond to threats and security violations on company property. Take proper action to such threats and notifies law enforcement or life safety authorities in a timely and prudent manner.

12. Prepares and maintains reports and documentation as required.

13. Collaborates with external departments and branches to resolve security issues.

14. Assesses risk through reviewing company locations to ensure alarm, lighting and video surveillance equipment are operational and makes recommendations for upgrades and replacements when appropriate.

15. Coordinates the assignment and placement of security guards as needed.

The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one’s own actions and conduct.

20. Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

Associates’ degree from a college or university; and/or at least 1-2 years of experience and/or training in physical security preferably within the financial services industry; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or information security related curriculum, should be applicable to the information security industry.

Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people in a wide range of positions and levels.

Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.

Basic typing skills to meet production needs of the position.

Basic math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.

Basic verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.

Ability to work with little supervision while performing duties.

Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
